There are two main concentrations available for Hydroquinone:
- Hydroquinone 2%.
- Hydroquinone 4%
Which type should you choose?
For mild dark spots, you should use 2% Hydroquinone whereas to effectively treat melasma & hyperpigmentation down deeper layers, you should use 4% Hydroquinone, Hyderquin Plus cream or Tri-Melasin cream which has three main active ingredients which are 4% hydroquinone, 0.05% tretinoin, and 0.1% Fluocinolone Acetonide (TRILUMA ingredients). Melasma severity and appearance will also differ according to your skin type. This means that personalized treatment is ideal.
For those of you with darker skin complexions, elevated hormone levels from pregnancy or hormonal birth control, or the love of a good, long summer tan, melasma is likely all too familiar. You’ve dealt with the unappealing dark splotches across your face for long enough to know that their treatment can feel impossible at times. For many, Hyderquin plus cream or Tri-Melasin cream is the best melasma treatment option.
